Welcome to my online portfolio! Here you will find a chronological history of the artwork I have created over the past decade since redirecting my life and choosing the career of Graphic Design, in 2002. As you explore the portfolio, you’ll see there is a wide array of sources from which the projects came from.
I have designed this website with several different goals in mind; though the priority is to adequately showcase my skills for potential clients or employers. I also want a fun way for my friends and family to see what I’ve been up to as well as adding a touch of my personality with links and info on my other hobbies, like reading, jewelry making, product reviews, food, etc.
If what you see here inspires you please feel free to contact me for more information through the “Contact Me” page or leave a comment, which is always appreciated. I have a resume ready to send you if you’re interested – all you have to do is ask!
Thank you for visiting,
Additional notes about my work:
I have never had a class in photography so these images are mostly experimentation and exploration. It’s been quite an adventure so far and I’ve barely scratched the surface. Take a look and let me know what you think.
I never fancied myself an illustrator but since graduating, I’ve learned how to use Adobe Illustrator… and the more I learn the more interesting the images become – and I LOVE it. I’m now selling a large body of work on three different stock-art agency sites and feel comfortable calling myself a genuine illustrator. Sometimes I begin the images with a pencil and sketchpad, roughing out the general idea and then translating it into digital format through the use of a scanner. Other times, I will already have a final concept figured out and work it out with a Wacom tablet. Either way, I’m still trying to figure out exactly what my style is, but I really enjoy the whole experience of drawing and seeing the images come to life with some digital manipulation.
The images in this section consist of logos, t-shirt designs, simple product images to detailed scenes created in Illustrator.
This section is a collection of projects which have been printed; business cards, flyers, brochures and more.
I actually do a lot of vinyl banner work – most of my clients send me print-ready files and I get them done and to them, but what you’ll find in this section are banners I’ve created the artwork for.
Having a husband who is a technical geek and knows all about the administration workings of a website has given me an advantage in developing this section of my website. I do the design work and he takes care of the hosting and installation of special features, as well as fixing some advanced coding so it works the way I want it too. We are a great team together.
All of my website building knowledge is self-taught. Several years ago (2005) I checked out a book from the local library on Dreamweaver and sat down with it and created my first website. It was a listing of all the local venues for karaoke – and a full schedule of where and when one could find karaoke here in Topeka. It was simple and template-driven, but I learned a ton from it. It has since gone by the wayside but it was the beginning. Today, I handle other small HTML-based informational websites to larger e-commerce websites and keep up with a mixture of other websites for whom I simply do maintenance and today, all of my websites are built within WordPress.
